Nike Dunk SB-Nike Men’s Shoes
Nike Dunk SB
In 2002 Nike took their brand in another line, and that would be Skateboarding. Other skaters disliked this idea because they did not want a corporate company to take over their sport. So what would make the line sell?
The Nike SB line rode on the back of the Nike Dunk SB. At first the line had plain colors, like the Lodens, Gino 1, Paul Brown Highs, and wheat lows, but with a zoom air insole, stuff tongue and extra padding, that alone sold well.

The Nike Dunk SB Low suggested retail price is $65.00 and Nike Dunk SB Highs is $75.00, but with all the hype of the shoe, plus stores “wanting” more money, prices have been upped to anywere from $125.00 to $250.00 and sometimes more.
Some what collectors call “Holy Grails” are Nike Dunk SB Heineken, Supreme Low and High, Calis, Supas, Chocolate, Zoo Yorks and Paris. Resell value on these would be $350 and as high as $5,000.
Only certain stores with a Nike SB account can get Nike Dunk SBs or any Nike SB. Rules were you had to be an established Skateboarding store for 2 years before Nike SB would consider making a contract with you. Plus something around $50,000 to sell Nike SBs in your store.
The rarest Nike Dunk SB would have to be the Ebay Dunk. Inspired by the Ebay logo, Nike made a sample pair to take pictures of, and threw them on ebay to see how they would sell. The pair went for over $30,000 and was made for the individual (who was kept anonymous) in his/her size. The original pair was cut up in 4 pieces and is on display.
People will do anything to get their hands on a rare pair of Dunk SBs. For example around 200 pairs of the Nike Dunk SB Pigeons released in New York only on February 2005 close to 100 people camped out for this pair, and on release day about 20 pairs were sold. Riots broke out, and the police had to come in full force. They went for $200-$300, but now they go for a easy $1200.

- Comfortable - great cusioning
- Style - they look slick in all thier color varieties
- Quality - Nike's made high quality shoes forever , and they know what they are doing
- Some styles are bright or flashy, and some muted - you may need to shop around to find your style
- For some people, the Nike name might be enough to turn you off to these shoes
- You have to buy them at official vendors - check out the Nike site for a list of shops
- Breathable side panels with subtle coloring for added style
- Thick breathable mesh tounge with added support straps to keep the tounge and foot in place
- Thick action leather upper, both durrable and stylish
- Zoom Air heel cusion for added comfort and shock absorbtion
- Herringbone sole tread pattern adds more grip
- Six color schemes, from earth tones to primary colors to black with loud silver or orange highlights
And these shoes do a good job with style. At present, there are 6 different color patterns, and they all look good. There's more subdued color schemes, and bright loud ones if that's what you prefer. The Nike swish is prominent on the side, and at a glance you might mistake these for regular running shoes.
Finally, lets talk about comfort. These shoes are very comfortable, with the Nike Zoom Air heel cushion that is about the best heel cushion I've felt in a shoe. The soles are cushy, but not too thick so you can still feel the board rather well.
These are good shoes - some of he best out there. I highly recommend them.
